The EG416S New Yorker guitar combines rosewood sides and a 3-piece rosewood/maple back with the balance and clarity of a solid spruce top. This combination produces a voice rich beyond it's diminutive size. The mahogany neck and rosewood bridge and fretboard provide clarity and lasting sustain, with strength and beauty. The 1-11/16" nut width and symmetrical neck provides comfort for dancing across the guitar's 20 frets. At the heart of the guitar is the intuitive TP4T electronics system, an easy to use preamp featuring a 3-band graphic EQ, and a built-in tuner.

The TP4T preamplifier found on Takamine G-Series guitars offers a gain knob, a tuner, an active shelving system EQ with bass, middle, and treble frequency slider controls, and a low battery light. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard 1/4" instrument cable into the endpin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable switches the preamplifier off. The TP4T Preamplifier is powered by a single 9-volt battery.
